Innovation – From idea to reality

Preliminary Screening

At the Innovation Clinic, we receive inventions, ideas, and issues from employees, patients, and citizens. We assess the invention/idea based on the following criteria:

  • Is it a genuine clinical problem/is there a clinical need for the solution?
  • Does the potential solution create value for the healthcare system – and for whom?
  • Is the solution innovative?
  • If the potential solution is a new psysical product, is there commercial potential for the solution?

If the Innovation Clinic determines that your submitted problem/idea/invention has potential, a project is initiated to develop the solution.

The Innovation Clinic supports you every step of the way

In development projects, the Innovation Clinic assists with:

  • Project management
  • Technical and commercial development
  • Assessment of patentability and patenting
  • Matchmaking between stakeholders in the healthcare section, specialists, industry, research institutions, and networks
  • Fundraising – securing project funding
  • Contracts and agreements – in collaboration with the Contract Unit (collaboration agreements, licenses, royalty agreements, etc.)

Can it be patented?

If you submit an invention, the Innovation Clinic conducts a patentability assessment to determine whether the invention can be protected. If so, the Innovation Clinic manages the further process.

Remember not to discuss or publicly disclose your invention to others before reaching out – it can harm the chances of obtaining a patent.
